TM KART AND KALÌ KART RENEW THEIR PARTNERSHIP FOR 2025

The technical collaboration between TM Kart and Kalì Kart will also continue in 2025, with the multi-titled engine company from Pesaro which will be the exclusive supplier for the Kalì Kart Racing Team in all races of the 2025 season. The partnership, which began last year at the same time as the relaunch of the Kalì Kart team in international competitions, has already brought an Italian ACI title in the OKN Junior category in 2024, as well as some notable victories in the MINI category.

This year the collaboration program will continue in all 4 reference categories managed by the Kalì Kart team: Mini, Junior, OK Senior and KZ. The partnership provides that for each category the team has direct support from one of TM’s most accredited engine engineers. In this regard, for what concerns the MINI category, something new will be introduced with the official nature of the service provided exclusively by the Teknoteka company, with which the Kalì Kart technical staff has been working for some months on the development of the engines for the 60 MINI class . As regards the direct-drive OKJ, OKN Junior and OK Senior categories, the management of the engines on the track will go on with Machac Motors, which will guarantee high-profile standards of performance and service. An important name in the TM world will be the Kalì Kart engine engineer, also of reference in the KZ class with the renewal of the collaboration with Viti Racing.

The engine sector in Motorsport has a significant importance and, in addition to the basic performance of the individual engines, management on the track and updates during the season can make the difference. For these reasons, much attention has been paid to this agreement and expectations on the eve of the 2025 season are high for both parties. The first competitive commitment of the Kalì Kart team is set for the WSK Master race scheduled for February 9th in Sarno, where the team will attend the event in the Mini, OKJ and OKN Junior categories.

2025 – 2027 FIA-APPROVED KALÌ KART CHASSIS

With the new FIA Karting homologation session, Kalì Kart has confirmed with a three-year renewal (2025-2027) its entire line of Racing chassis produced for international races and the major single-brand trophies: the KK2 and the KK4 chassis. While on the one hand, as far as the geometries and bodies are concerned, only a few optimizations have been made, bringing the technical experience gained by the Racing Department and the Research and Development Center of the Tinini Group in the most important international events onto the series production, some significant innovations have been introduced for what concerns the fairings and some accessories such as braking systems. For the MINI categories, the homologation of the Black Mirror model (approved as T-Group) has been renewed for all Championships and Trophies where international chassis approval is required.

Please find below a short note that illustrates the main innovations and technical characteristics of the Kalì Kart Racing chassis with FIA homologation for 2025.

What’s new

All Kalì Kart chassis in the Racing range will adopt the new fairings called 507/509 which replace the previous 507/508. The new fairings have a design that aims to further optimize the aerodynamics and cooling of some technical components, while at the same time giving the kart an even more attractive look. The number holder is characterized by various slits to discharge the air flows in the most functional way from an aerodynamic point of view and all the studies conducted have also highlighted benefits regarding the effectiveness of the chassis in the front part.

Also new is the front spoiler which is integrated with the number holder and has as its main feature two air intakes at the ends which, in addition to improving the air flow, in the categories with front brakes also contribute significantly to the correct cooling. The new fairings are combined with a sticker kit with renewed graphics, but which maintains the classic Kalì Kart livery with the yellow, black and fluorescent orange colors.

Upon request, the 2025 chassis can also be fitted with the previous 507/508 fairings which retain their approval. As regards accessories, the homologation has been confirmed for the VEN 11 braking system (new acronym from 1 January 2025 – VEN 11b) with the possibility of adopting two different brake discs: the usual 192mm and a smaller one to reduce the masses by 180mm. It will also be possible to choose as an optional or “after market” VEN 13 system with the innovative modulated braking system, which after some technical developments carried out by the CRG Racing Department and the internal technical office, represents a valid, reliable and effective, both in the DD (direct drive) and KZ versions. As an option, a new steering wheel will also be available which offers increased grip to the driver and has a structure already designed to house the most common data acquisition systems and steering wheel displays.

Kalì Kart chassis with 2025-2027 homologation

KK2: The body of this model is made of 30mm chrome molybdenum steel tubes and is particularly suitable for direct drive categories, both International (OK – OKJ), and for the main single-brand trophies such as Rotax, Iame X30 and ROK. The design of the body is conventional and among its strong points it has the ease with which it can be combined with all types of tires (option and prime) and the feeling it offers the driver with simple setup adjustments. The accessories are top of the range and include magnesium rims and accessories, VEN 11b braking system and the new 507/509 fairings. By implementing the chassis with the gear lever and clutch kit, the KK2 model can also be used in the KZ categories if a softer and smoother chassis than the usual 32mm is required, useful for example in track conditions with a lot of grip.

KK4: The body of this model is made with 32mm chrome molybdenum steel tubes and is particularly suitable for the Shifter categories, both International (KZ – KZ2), and for the categories with the gearbox of the main single-brand trophies such as Rotax, Iame X30 and ROK. The KK4 chassis is a multi-world champion and has always had braking, traction and lateral grip among its strong points, which are priority technical characteristics in high-performance categories such as KZ. This same chassis, in the winter season and in all cases where grip or greater ease in bringing the tires into the operating “window” is sought, can also be used successfully with direct drive engines by requesting the DD setup which does not include front brakes and the gear shift levers. The accessories are top of the range and include magnesium rims and accessories, VEN 11b braking system and the new 507/509 fairings. The KK4 model is also approved for the ROTAX DD2 category which adopts a specific transmission system.

MINI: The body of this model is made of 28 mm chrome molybdenum steel tubes and is FIA approved for the MINI classes, both National as required for WSK events, and for the major single-brand trophies (Rotax, Iame and Rok). The main feature of this chassis is the excellent basic balance with standard setup, which allows kids even with little experience to immediately find an excellent feeling with any type of tire and on all track layouts. The equipment is of high quality and includes magnesium rims and the VEN 12 hydraulic braking system.

FOR THE KALÌ KART RACING TEAM THE INTERNATIONAL SEASON IS OVER

By taking part, although with only 2 drivers, in the 2nd Round of the WSK Final Cup in Cremona, the Kalì Kart Racing Team ended this first re-entry season to international competitions. The Cremona race confirmed the great growth of Simone Bianco in the KZ2 category, always among the fastest in every phase of the weekend, even if he once again had to pay for some bad luck with two contacts without responsibility in the Heats and one in Final already on the 1st lap of the race, an episode that forced him to recover from the back up to P21. But in some races such as the 2nd and 4th Heat or the Pre-Final, which he ended in P6, he demonstrated that he has a race pace equivalent to the best drivers and for him the next season could be one of maturity and results in the KZ2 category.

Charles Troxler also showed progress in OKN, finishing in P17 in the Final, although it is worth saying that the Swiss driver is only in his 2nd season of racing and also for him the fruits of this labor will be more evident next year.

2024 has been a long journey for Kalì Kart Racing, busy on multiple fronts and already winning in the 1st year in the MINI category with two successes in WSK, as well as in OKN Junior where the team obtained the title of the Italian Champion. A lot of experience has also been gained in the FIA European Championship and in the FIA World Championship in the OK and OK Junior categories and all this work will be the basis for building an important 2025. Mariano De Faveri will be confirmed at the head of the technical staff and the priority categories in 2025 will be the Mini, the OKN Junior and the OKN ones, which will have the FIA World Cup in Italy next year, in addition to the International OKJ and KZ2 categories. December will be dedicated to a few days of testing and the definition of the 2025 drivers line up.

KALÌ KART RACING TO TAKE PART IN THE TROFEO DELLE INDUSTRIE THIS WEEKEND

The 52nd Trofeo delle Industrie will be a record edition in terms of participation, one of the historic races of international karting born in 1971 on the Parma circuit and then transferred to the Lonato track after the closure of the Emilian racetrack. There will be 320 registered drivers (representing 47 Nations) with all the most important Factory Teams attending the event. Among these, the Kalì Kart Racing Team will also be the protagonist of this prestigious international meeting with 6 drivers: Max Zvarich in the Mini Under 10 category, Marat Zvarich in the Mini Gr.3, Sam Woolley in the OK Junior one, Simone Bianco in the KZ2 class, Mark Zvarich in OKN Junior and Charles Troxler in the OKN one. One driver in each of the six categories for the Kalì Kart Team and certainly the ambition to have a good race.

There are many expectations for Sam Woolley who, after the excellent performances at the FIA World Championship, will try to materialize a positive result, while at the same time he will start a work program on technical materials in view of 2025. Similar ambitions for Simone Bianco in KZ2, at the his first season in the gearbox category and ready to close the year with a good result, after having completed the understanding phase with the top class. For the MINI drivers Max and Marat Zvarich the objective will be to continue their apprenticeship in this competitive category, especially in view of next season, as well as for Mark Zvarich and Charles Troxler in the OKN categories.

The event program will officially begin on Friday with Qualifying Practice, the Heats will take place on Saturday and the Pre-Finals and Finals on Sunday.

Live Timing and Live Streaming will be available on the event website at www.trofeodelleindustrie.it

KALÌ KART RACING CROWNED ITALIAN KARTING CHAMPION (OK-N JUNIOR)

The 5th and final round of the Italian Karting Championship, which took place this weekend in Lonato del Garda, crowned Kalì Kart Racing and Cristian Blandino as Italian Karting Champions in the OK-N Junior class. This is an important success, in one of the most competitive categories of the Italian series and achieved with a driver, the Sicilian Cristian Blandino, making his debut in this class. The success was achieved with placings in each of the 5 Championship events, which began on the Sicilian track of Trascina in April and then continued on the circuits of Muro Leccese, Val Vibrata, Sarno and Lonato with the final race. Overall, Blandino closed the Championship with 233 points, 17 more than Sebastian Eskandari, who was the most competitive opponent in this long season in which the double success in Sarno certainly shines for Kalì Kart colours, while it is worth saying that the final round in Lonato was not particularly positive, finishing with a 5th place in Race 1, mainly thinking about the standings and with P10 in Race 2 due to a chassis problem which appeared immediately in the first laps of the race.

Despite an unlucky last weekend, Blandino deservedly won a Championship in which he demonstrated consistently high performance on different tracks. The name of Cristian Blandino in the Kalì Kart palmares in the Junior categories joins the one of Giorgio Pantano, Italian Junior Champion with Kalì Kart colors in 1993 and 1994, as well as that of Ennio Gandolfi, Italian Junior Champion with Kalì Kart in 1992.

The last weekend of the Italian Championship also saw the debut of two new Kalì Kart drivers in OK-N Junior: Mark Zvarich and Andrea Saccà. The former was very unlucky as he had to retire after the first Heat, due to a bruised wrist, while Andrea had an excellent weekend with excellent placings in the Heats, which earned him a place among the 36 finalists. The weekend in Sarno also saw the debut of Marat Zvarich and Max Zvarich, in MINI U10 and MINI Gr.3 respectively: the former did not qualify due to a technical problem in the 2nd Heat, while Max ended two excellent races, doing a lot experience in this first important commitment in Italy. Again in the MINI category, a race contact forced Ben Piscopo to retire in the 1st Final when he was fighting for the top 10 with an excellent race pace, while in Race 2, starting from the back of the grid, the driver from Malta finished P19, recovering 15 positions. Simone Bianco also had a positive weekend in the KZ2 class, finishing Race 1 in the points (P4 in the Under 18), while in Race 2 a contact deprived him of the top ten, while he was doing an excellent race. Finally, Charles Troxler did not qualify for the OK-N Final, but he has certainly made a lot of progress, considering that he has only been practicing karting at this level for a year.

Now a few days of rest for the OK and KZ drivers, while the Mini ones will be competing at the WSK in Sarno next weekend.

The drivers’ feedback:

Cristian Blandino (OK-N Junior): “I am very happy for this title and I have to thank the whole team, the team manager Mariano De Faveri and Machac Motors. Today in Race 1 I only thought about the points that were missing for mathematics and I didn’t get involved in unnecessary risks by finishing P5, but in Race 2 when I could race with more peace of mind, unfortunately, we had a problem with the seat which came loose from lateral support already in the first laps and driving became very difficult for me. I stayed with the leaders for over half the race, but towards the end I dropped to P10. I would have liked to celebrate this title on the podium, but the most important thing is to have won it, against very competitive opponents and teams and in my first experience in OK-N Junior“.

Simone Bianco (KZ2): “I am very disappointed by the accident that took me out of the running in Race 2, because it came from a maneuver that made little sense by another driver, which ruined both our races. At that moment I was very fast and I was catching up with the leaders. This weekend we struggled more than in the last two races to find a good balance, but finally in Race 2 everything worked better. Now after the parenthesis in OK for the World Championship in England, I will focus exclusively on the KZ category and we will prepare the Trofeo delle Industrie and the two WSK Final races in the best way possible”.

Ben Piscopo (Mini U10): “If I look at the result, I am a little disappointed, but if I look at the performances, I am quite happy. Our chassis proved to work very well this weekend and in Race 1 I was very fast after a good start, but unfortunately with 4 laps to go, a three-way collision forced me to retire and also caused me a bruise. In Race 2 I started far behind, but I recovered 15 positions with a pace equal to the leaders. I think it’s only a matter of time to consistently fight for the top of the rankings and I hope to have a good race this week in Sarno”.

THE ITALIAN KARTING TITLES WILL BE AWARDED IN LONATO ON SUNDAY

Important appointment is upon us for Kali Kart Racing which, this week, from 19th to 22nd September, will be committed on the Lonato track for the 5th and final round of the Italian Karting Championship. There will be 5 categories competing: Mini Under 10, Mini Gr.3, OKN Junior, OKN and KZ2.

The Kalì Kart team lines up 8 drivers at this important national meeting and a presence in each category. But eyes will be focused in particular on OKN Junior in which Cristian Blandino, after the double success in Sarno, is the championship leader with 208 points. The two Finals on Sunday will be decisive, awarding the winner 80 points for Race 1 and 50 for Race 2, considering the margin of advantage that Blandino will be able to manage over Tonalini 2nd in the standings of only 27 points. In OKN Junior there will also be interest in the debut of two new Kalì Kart drivers: Andrea Saccà and Mark Zvarich. The latter will be accompanied in this new phase of his growth as a driver in Italy by his two younger brothers, who will be racing in the Mini categories always with Kalì Kart colours: Max in Under 10 and Marat in Gr.3. Ben Piscopo is also expected to have a good race in the MINI U 10, who after many constantly improving performances is looking for a notable result. This last seasonal event of the Italian Championship will also be important for Simone Bianco in KZ2 who currently occupies 5th position in the Under 18 classification and will be able to aspire to the category podium, as well as improving his position in the general classification. Finally, Charles Troxler will defend the Kalì Kart colours in OKN.

The event program will respect the usual format with the qualifying practice on Friday, the heats on Saturday and the two Finals on Sunday: Race 1 in the morning and Race 2 in the early afternoon. You can follow the event live on the Federation’s website: www.acisport.it

THE KALÌ KART COLOURS RETURN TO THE FIA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP OK & OK JUNIOR

After a few years in which the Kalì Kart chassis were mainly involved in the National Championships, this year the Italian brand, part of the Tinini Group, will return to compete in the World Championship in the direct-drive categories. The meeting is going to be this weekend, from September 12th to 15th, on the PF International track in England. There will be 4 Kalì Kart Racing drivers registered for the event: Sam Woolley, Cristian Blandino and Oskar Poberaj in the OK Junior and Simone Bianco in the OK category. Overall there will be over 250 drivers taking part to this international meeting, all competing to stand out and earn a place in professional motorsport, as happened to the winners of past editions.

The Kalì Kart team took part in the Champions of the Future preparation race last week and was able to gain a lot of experience, both in wet track conditions and on a dry track. Sam Woolley certainly has the advantage of knowing the circuit well and demonstrated excellent speed in all track conditions, doing an excellent job on the set up for the race. As for Blandino and Poberaj, last week’s race was mainly useful for finding the feeling with the circuit and also for them the balance of the work done is positive in view of this weekend that is about to begin. In OK Simone Bianco had many ups and downs, but he certainly has the experience to capitalize on the work done and run a good race.

The event program includes the qualifying phases starting on Friday with the qualifying practice and the first heats, while the final phases will take place on Sunday with the Super Heats in the morning and the Finals for the top 36 in the afternoon. To follow the event you can connect to the official website (fiakarting.com) where Live Timing and Live Streaming will be available.

KALÌ KART IN ENGLAND FOR THE CHAMPIONS OF THE FUTURE SERIES

The most important event of the year for Team Kalì Kart Racing, the FIA World Championship OK and OK Junior, is quickly approaching. In this preparation process for the event scheduled for next September 15th in England, the Champions of the Future race will be held on the same track (PF International) in a week’s time. It will be a pre-event with all the protagonists of the World Championship on the track to work on setups and study the secrets of this technical circuit.

The Kalì Kart Racing Team will line up 4 drivers in this double event: Sam Woolley, Cristian Blandino and Oskar Poberaj in the OK Junior category and Simone Bianco in the OK class.

The format of the race will be the same of the FIA event and therefore it will be possible to replicate everything that will happen in the World Championship. The Kalì Kart technicians already have a solid technical base after the testing sessions that took place in August, but obviously this week’s race will give official confirmation of the team’s potential and ambitions.

This is how Mariano De Faveri, Technical Manager of the team, has commented on the upcoming trip to England:

“We have 3 very young drivers in OK Junior and with little experience in this type of event, but each of them has great potential and we believe we can have an excellent race. Woolley did a good job in testing and knows the track well, while Blandino and Poberaj will have to use this race mainly to find the feeling with the track. Fortunately, our technical base is very competitive, both in terms of the chassis and the engine, due to the close collaboration with Machac Motors and TM. This will allow us to work less on the chassis and concentrate more on the boys’ way of driving. Simone Bianco will return to the direct-drive category in OK, after having been exclusively involved in KZ this year; we will have to try to get him to rediscover some driving automatism,s because in the tests he had several problems in finding the feeling with the track, but he certainly has the experience to have a good race and this weekend will be very important for him”.
