DOUBLE COMMITMENT FOR SIMONE BIANCO: FOR HIM EVEN A PROGRAM IN THE OK CATEGORY

In the last few days the Kalì Kart Racing team has formalized a double competitive program for Simone Bianco in the second part of the season. Together with his commitment in the KZ2 class, a category in which he had his debut this year to gain experience in the WSK races and in the Italian Championship, the Lombard driver, in fact, will also take part in an OK program with the aim of attending the FIA World Championship in England.

Simone has been racing with the Tinini Group for several seasons and in the last two years he has raced at international level in the OK category with the official CRG team, so for him it will just be a matter of rediscovering some driving automatisms and then he will certainly be able to aspire to outstanding results. On June 23rd he will take part in the KZ race in the Italian Championship of Val Vibrata in the KZ2 category and from the first week of July he will resume training with the direct – drive OK category on the Lonato track. As for the racing program, this parenthesis in OK will be to take part in the tests and the OK World Championship scheduled for September 15th, also taking part in the Champions of the Future event the week before. Once he will have made this experience, Simone Bianco will return to the KZ2 category for the final races of the season.

In the OK class Simone will also be supported by TM regarding the engines with on-track service from Machac Motors.

This is how Simone has commented on this opportunity:

“The apprenticeship in KZ2 proved to be very challenging and, at the moment, we were not ready and competitive enough to take on international FIA competitions in this category. I am sure that the first positive results in the gearbox category will arrive soon, especially in the national races, but at the moment we have considered it an opportunity to take part in the OK World Championship, a category where I certainly have more experience and the possibility of being competitive, resuming the automatic mechanisms with a few days of testing. The English PFI track is very technical and it will be a very nice experience to be able to take part in this event”.

THE KALÌ KART RACING TEAM IS ALWAYS MORE COMPETITIVE

The consolidation process within the Tinini Group continues for the Kalì Kart Racing Team, which took part in the 2nd Round of the Italian Championship with two new drivers in OKN Junior (Giulio Miranda and Francesco Montoneri), but above all always with greater ambitions. As underlined several times by the team management, the team is continuing a process of constant technical and logistical growth which, for the 2024 season, will have its complete expression during the FIA World Championship OK and OK Junior which will be the most important event of this racing season, before the WSK ones in October and November. In this path, the Italian Championship has more national connotations, but at the same time it is very useful from a technical and organizational point of view, as well as the WSK races which are held on the sidelines of the FIA Karting events.

Cristian Blandino’s synergy with the Junior category continued in Lecce, where the 2nd Round of the Italian Karting Championship took place and where he shone in Qualifying Practice and in the Heats, conquering the 1st row for Race 1. Unfortunately, however, the Sicilian driver was unlucky in the two Finals: in the 1st race he broke the water pump three laps from the end of the race, finishing in P5 and missing the podium by a whisker, while in Race 2 a technical problem slowed him down, forcing him to P6 only. Despite the lack of luck on Sunday, Cristian is 5th in the Championship and is preparing for his debut in international races in the best possible way.

The MINI drivers of the Kalì Kart Team also shone in Lecce, always among the fastest, but on Sunday they also collected less than they deserve: Ben Piscopo in the Under 10 category lost the top ten in Race 2 only on the last lap due to a contact, after a great recovery from P21 and Domenico Coco in the Gr.3 class went off the track in Race 1 when he was among the fastest on the track, close to the leaders.

Excellent step forward also for Simone Bianco in KZ2, P7 in Qualifying in his group and always in the top ten in the Heats, but unfortunately in both Finals a race contact forced him to retire.

As for the two drivers making their debut in the OKN Junior caqtegory, Giulio Miranda had been out of action for a few months and used the race above all to get back into the swing of driving and working with the team, while Francesco Montoneri had a very positive weekend, constantly improving his own performances. Both qualified for the Sunday races, despite the high number of participants and this first objective is already a positive fact on which to base the work in view of the next events. THE KALÌ KART RETAIL NETWORK IS GROWING

Over the last month three new importers have joined the team of Kalì Kart authorized dealers: Racing Line for Greece, Lemberg Aviation for Finland and MB Liguna Montasje for Norway. The process of repositioning the brand on the international karting market is therefore proceeding at a high pace and every day new customers are choosing Kalì Kart for their competitive activity in the National and International Karting Championships.

The choice to set up an official Kalì Kart racing team within the Tinini Group is certainly driving the expansion of the Kalì Kart line around the world, but above all it is the great work that individual importers are carrying out with their sporting and commercial partners in their countries, which is positioning the Kalì Kart brand among the reference players in many categories, from the KZ top class to the single-make trophies.

The Kalì Kart philosophy wishes to combine the quality and performance of the product with a timely service regarding consultancy and spare parts. In this sense, the sales network and the external teams play a fundamental role, as well as the commercial and marketing coordination managed by the headquarters in Italy. It is worth saying that the range of the Kalì Kart Racing chassis is produced in the technological hub of the Tinini Group in Lonato del Garda and covers all categories of the Racing segment, including the Mini youth classes.

MARIANO DE FAVERI APPOINTED CHIEF TECHNICIAN OF THE KALÌ KART TEAM

The growth of the technical sector continues within the official Kalì Kart Racing TeamThe Tinini Group team, in fact, has announced the arrival of Mariano De Faveri with the title of full time Chief Technician starting from April. De Faveri was already involved in the Kalì Kart team since January as technical support, but essentially on a half-service basis, having also maintained his role within the data acquisition department in the official CRG Team.

The decision to allocate him exclusively to the Kalì Kart team was taken directly by Giancarlo Tinini to whom De Faveri will report for all technical issues. This internal operation underlines the growing sporting and commercial ambitions that the CRG Marketing and Management place on the Kalì Kart project. Mariano De Faveri will be assisted by Roberto Musio and Sebastiano Monte, who will share many of the team’s technical and management responsibilities.

The first appointment on the track with the technical structure implemented will already be this week during the WSK Open Series, a race scheduled on the Franciacorta track, in which 5 official Kalì Kart drivers will get on the track: Ben Piscopo and Cristian Blandino in the Mini category, the debutant Sam Woolley in OK – N Junior class, Stefano Pedani in the OKN one and Simone Bianco in the KZ2 category.

SAM WOOLLEY JOINS THE KALÌ KART TEAM

The Kalì Kart Racing Team is pleased to welcome Sam Woolley who will join the team for the OK Junior category. The English driver was born in Urmstom, Manchester in September 2010 and began racing go-karts at the age of 8 in the Mini categories, achieving many notable results at national level. His first international experiences were made in the X30 Junior category in which, at the beginning of this season, he won the Hivern Cup Spain and obtained P2 in the Winter Cup of Valencia.

For Sam, the move to the official Kalì Kart team means taking a new step in his career by debuting in FIA races. The first event in which he will take part will be the European Championship in Slovakia next June and after that he will be among the protagonists of the OK Junior World Championship which will take place on his home track, the PFI in England.

Sam has already taken part in a testing day with the Kalì Kart team and in order to begin his journey of understanding the technical staff, the working methodologies and the new material, he will take part in the WSK Open race in the OK- N Junior category scheduled on the Franciacorta track the first week of April.

This is how the young English driver commented on the move to the Kalì Kart team:

“The opportunity that has arisen to join the Kalì Kart Factory Team will allow me to enter a second phase of my experience in karting, taking part in the international OK Junior races within a highly experienced team with great technical means. The first important event for me will be the European Championship race in Slovakia, but obviously I will carry out a specific preparation program for the race in England, where the World Championship will take place in September. The first feedback I had from the team was very positive, as was the performance, although now my main objective will be to learn as OK Junior is a substantially new category for me”.

POSITIVE FEEDBACK FOR KALÌ KART AT THE FIA EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP

The 1st of the four rounds of the 2024 FIA European Championship for the OK and OK Junior categories ended on the Valencia circuit in Spain. The official Kalì Kart team took part in this important international meeting with two drivers in the OK category: Stefano Pedani and Peter Stiller.

The experience was very positive, despite the delay with which the tires for the direct drive categories were established (contract transferred to Maxxis instead of 2023 MG tires ), objectively created many problems in the preparation phases of this event. There were some ups and downs during the weekend and, above all, Peter Stiller suffered some problems in finding the right feeling with the setup, failing to qualify for the Final. Stefano Pedani’s weekend, however, was on the rise, first doing well in qualifying for the Final, despite two penalties for the spoiler costing him over 20 positions on the starting grid, and subsequently among the fastest in the Final, where he recovered 20 positions, finishing in P16. Sporting results aside, the positive feedback was above all of a technical nature, thanks to the great work done by the team which created the foundations for the upcoming international events.

This is how Stefano Pedani commented on his weekend: “I am very happy with the result, we were fast right from Free Practice and in the Final the chassis setup and the TM engine were perfect. We are doing a good team work and constantly improving; therefore, we can look to the future with ever greater ambitions.”

The next appointment with the FIA European Championship is scheduled for April in France.

THE KALI’ KART TEAM IN SPAIN FOR THE EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP – OK AND JUNIOR

There will be two official Kalì Kart drivers taking part in the FIA European Championship in Valencia this weekend: Stefano Pedani and Peter Stiller. Both will be competing in the OK top class with the aim of scoring their first points of the season.

The FIA European Championship will be divided into 4 events and therefore each result will be important in terms of the general ranking. After Spain, the Championship will stop in France, followed by Slovakia and, finally, in August in Sweden. After the Champions of the Future race, in which the major teams prepared this first test of the season, a lot of work was done at the Kalì Kart Factory to bring some technical evolutions capable of guaranteeing a better feeling for the drivers. In particular, we have worked on the new Maxxis tires which the drivers and technical staff discovered only a few days before the Champions of the Future race. From this point of view, the first free practices on Thursday will be very important, while from Friday the track will offer the first official feedback with qualifying practice and the start of the eliminatory races. The Super Heat and the Finals are scheduled for Sunday.
