Kalì Kart is glad to announce the collaboration agreement with the driver Joel Taipale for the 2025 season in the OK and OKN Senior category. Joel was born on 7 October 2011 in Helsinki (Finland) and began his karting journey at the age of 9 in the National MINI category, achieving many podium finishes in his first racing season. In the MINI category he gained experience and achieved successes, both in the Finnish National Championship and in the Iame Series. In 2023 he made his debut in the OK Junior category, quickly becoming one of the most competitive drivers in the National Championship and in 2024 he took part in the FIA Academy Trophy representing Finland. In this International series he once again had a positive season, taking P12 in the Championship and many top ten placings, as well as having set the best lap in the Final in the races in France and Sweden.
This year he will move to the OK category and the agreement reached with the Kalì Kart Factory Team will guarantee him the possibility of having high-profile materials and technical support available to capitalize on all the experience gained in recent years. His competitive program will be concentrated on the OKN category in Italy to prepare for the FIA World Cup of this category, that will take place in Cremona in September, but as part of the season he will also take part in some OK meetings and, in all likelihood, also in the FIA World Championship in Sweden.
This is how Joel has commented on the agreement with Kalì Kart:
“Being able to be part of a Factory Team is every driver’s goal and I believe that at this stage of my karting experience it is the right choice. My plan will be to capitalize on the experiences gained to date in the youth categories and be able to fight for a place among the big names in the OKN category in Italy, where many competitive drivers and teams will race. My first contact with the team was very positive in the Lonato tests, in particular due to the feeling I immediately had with the technical staff. I’m confident I can do a good job with the team and I can’t wait to do the first races together”.
