The Kalì Kart team is pleased to announce the collaboration agreement with the Russian driver Ilya Berezkin for the OK Junior category. A highly experienced driver with an already important sporting curriculum despite his young age, Ilya can be considered a top driver in the Junior category and will bring to the Kalì Kart team not only performance, but also the ability to develop technical material and useful feedback on setup and technical choices.
The agreement signed last week provides for an initial duration of two years and participation in the most important races in the OK Junior category, including the FIA World Championship in Sweden in September. After this appointment, the move to the OK class is already expected at the end of the season in preparation for 2026.
Ilya was born in October 2011 in Russia and won his first National Championship in Micro Rotax in 2020 and later also winning the Cadet title in 2022. Last season, again in Russia, he won the OK Junior title and took part in many meetings also in Italy, winning the WSK Open Series in Cremona and Franciacorta and also repeating himself in the WSK Super Cup, again on the Franciacorta track. Last year he also won two races of the Italian Championship in the Junior category (La Conca and Lonato), calling many professionals’ attention to him.
This is how Ilya has commented on the agreement with Kalì Kart:
“The Kalì Kart project is ambitious, very professional and being part of it is a source of pride and motivation for me. The first tests this year confirmed the good feelings we had with my family during the winter negotiations. Now we will finally have the first race in Sarno next week and we will be able to start this journey together with the hope of going far and achieving many successes.”
